HELLO – we are Adam and Kelly Lyons, founders of Lyons’ Den.
As you would expect from restaurateurs, our love affair with food began as children. I (Adam) went on to actually qualify as a chef in 1998 and worked in the restaurant at Hertfordshire’s Champneys Spa Hotel. Then, on a driving holiday across America with Kelly, I got to taste some of the best burgers in the world. Fresh, homemade, quality ingredients and sides… and I knew where my future lay!
My favourite burger was the off-the-menu ‘Animal Style’ burger, which I ate in Las Vegas’s In-N-Out Burger, a small, family-owned chain. It was pretty simple and a little bit messy – just like a great burger should be.
I wasn’t always a chef though. I was a Police Officer for 12 years but in 2014 I decided to follow my dream… to open up Shrewsbury’s first dedicated gourmet burger restaurant. Kelly and I have put our hearts and souls into it, and want to create a relaxed yet truly memorable dining experience; honest food that tastes amazing and uses the best produce that our lovely county of Shropshire offers.
Our menu may have a range of sides and delicious desserts but Lyons’ Den specializes in one thing – BURGERS! This means that you – our customer – know that you will be enjoying a meal that has received our sole attention. We do one thing, so we do it well! My team and I are not being distracted by cooking lots of different dishes and meats.
The plan is to take Lyons’ Den nationwide. Shrewsbury is our home, but one day we’d love to have our burger restaurants in every town and city in the UK! All with the same ethos – using fantastic local produce to make the best burgers for the best price.
